Course description: an introduction to the Hindi language and Indian culture for true beginners. The course will focus on developing basic Hindi communication skills by listening, emitting, reading, utilizing simple vocabulary and short sentences. Students will also learn to read and write Hindi in Devanagari script with an introduction to the writing system and acquire elementary writing and reading skills. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to communicate at very basic level with Hindi speakers on limited simple daily topics such as greetings, self-introduction, numbers, likes and dislikes, family members etc.
